Nonsense info graphics

Info graphics are massive, especially if you read The Guardian who seem to go info graphic crazy. These illustrations take the style for pure visual fun and they look amazing.

This painting by Kris Lewis caught our eye. It's gorgeous. See more at www.krislewisart.com and if you're in Denver pop along to his show at the David B Smith Gallery.

Avatar

Finally the teaser trailer for James Cameron's Avatar has been released. We have to admit we were a little underwhelmed at first. However after a few more views we are starting to get a little excited. The CGI is not as groundbreaking as we were lead to believe but it is still quite impressive. Judge for yourself at www.avatarmovie.com

Liu Bolin

'Camouflage' by Liu Bolin. While we are sure Liu is commenting on the state Chinese politics, it is the attention to detail in his work that caught our eye.

Paint balling

This is just simple, fun and brilliant, we love it.

Branding of Polaroid

I came across this blog by Designer Paul Giambarba, the man responsible for the iconic era of Polaroid branding. His personal accounts of these days make for great reading as he takes us through everything he ever designed for Polaroid.

Luigi Colani

Coming across new talent is always great but sometimes you find yourself in absolute awe with an established master, Luigi Colani is one of those people.

Constantly putting form over function he has coined the term 'biodynamic' and dedicated his life's work to it. Pictures of his designs illustrate the organic forms but if you get the chance, see the prototypes and models up close when on display, they will blow you away.

Olly Moss

We love video games here at DH HQ. So when we saw Olly Moss's 'penguin classics' inspired game covers we just had to blog about it. We think microsoft should issue a limited 'classics' run. Have a look at Olly's site for more great design work.

Mr Page

Simon Page has a lot of fun with circles, a bit like spirograph goes 21st century. See his flicker page for a large collection of his work including his 'typography is everything' wallpaper's.

Blogs we like: Kemp folds

Kemp folds is absolute genius. The simple idea of "Ross Kemp's face, folded" is one we all wish we had thought of. Check it out for daily laughs and spot the Driving Horse contribution.

James Jean

We have resisted the urge to blog about Mr.Jean for too long. He is one of the most popular artists in the world right now and for good reason. If you haven't seen any of his work then shame on you, proceed straight to his website and be amazed.

Teague concept bike

Teague's new concept bike, Pulse, addresses some major issues faced by todays commuters. With electric indicators and luminescent frame it is not only a safer approach to cycling but is also the sweetest looking bike we have ever seen. It also reminds us of the Tron 'light cycle' which is too cool.

Richard Ayoade

Richard Ayoade is best known for his hilarious portrayal of Moss in the IT Crowd. However he is also an amazing director. Have a look at his music video for Kasabian's 'Vlad the Impaler', clearly inspired by Grindhouse cinema and Italian horror, very sinister.
