Therese Glimskär

I'm a big fan of clever product design and like to keep an eye out for new and innovative ideas. I recently stumbled across an ingenius piece of design while visting this years RCA show. Therese Glimskär has added functionality to an item which, when not in use, is often stowed away out of sight. His ironing board mirror is simple product design at its best.

Mariachi El Bronx

A few years ago I discovered the worlds best punk band, well in my opinion, The Bronx. For those of you not lucky enough to have heard them take a look at their myspace. Now, in a bizarre turn of events, The Bronx have decided to break away from the punk scene (only briefly mind) to return to their mariachi roots. Check out this acoustic version of their new single 'Cell Mates'.

FWA: A picture a day

FWAPhoto is always a nice place to catch up with some photography every now and again. Due to the variety there is something to suit everyones tastes.

Blogs we like: Art Car Central

There's so many great blogs that we keep an eye on so every now and again we will be posting some of our favorites for you to check out (if you don't know of them already). This is Art Car Central, creativity, madness and fun involving mainly cars. Enjoy.

Sam Weber

Sam Weber is a very talented artist, in fact he is a genius. His work is incredibly dark while being majestic and dream like. Have a look at his site to see why we love him so.

Alice in Wonderland

You've all seen it by now but I felt I still needed to share the magic. I'm sure Tim will do Lewis Carroll proud.

A bit like Blankety Blank really

Saw this, liked it, blogged it.

Branislav Kropilak

Kropilak's photography transforms mundane objects and environments into beautiful pieces of art. His billboard work is my favorite. Check out his site here.

An Old Favorite

Charles Peterson's work is without a doubt some of the best live music photography to exist. Documenting every moment of the Seattle music scene he used his raw black and white images to create a brand of photography for the infamous Sup Pop records, a success only previously achieved with Motown. Neither a google image search or his website does this era of his work any justice - add his book 'Touch Me I'm Sick' to your library for essential music photography collecting.

Visual Madness

We've all seen clever projections before but this work by Apparati Effimeri really raises the bar. It's a long video but the build up of visual trickery is worth the wait.

Jason Thielke

Jason Thielke combines architectural draftsmanship with traditional drawing techniques to create simple yet eye-catching illustrations. Have a look at his website to see his portfolio of figure illustrations. Imagine what his buildings would look like.

Valerie Vargas

The tattoo industry is saturated with mediocre artists creating second-rate tattoos, so it is nice to see an artist who is not only technically outstanding but who also has a real passion for their art. London based Valerie Vargas is without a doubt one of the best traditional tattoo artists on the scene. Her amazing line work and attention to detail sets her apart from the rest. Check out her blog and book yourself in at Frith Street Tattoo.

Poladroid

As a Polaroid fanatic I was in awe when I once saw a friends flicker page with an album full of old 600 film Polaroids taken on a recent trip. When I found out they were fakes I was shocked, but wanted to know how! Poladroid is a free app that I've now used for a few years, throw your images at it and get a variable Polaroid with a genuine look every time, fantastic. See all the images below and more on the Poladroid flicker page.

Say what about Kinetic Type?

There's a lot of 'Kinetic Type' out there at the moment, some good, some not so good. This one stands out due to it's consistent rhythm, simplistic styling and choice of one of the finest pieces of dialogue in modern cinema. For a good collection of Kinetic Type check out Vimeo's Nice Type page.

Luster Kaboom

It's always nice to be introduced to a new artist and we're big fans of Luster's at Driving Horse. This is one of my personal favorites, but check out Luster's blog and website for more great work.

Brandon Riza - VFX Master Chief

Brandon's work for Blur Studio's is breathtaking. In particular his vfx builds for the Halo Wars cinematic. He's also a pretty good photographer. People like him make me sick.

Old 66 Classics

I spotted this graveyard of old American classics when I was driving down old Route 66. The place was full of relics from the finest decades of American car design, sadly there was no Dodge Charger so my search continues.

Tiny Life

Keith Loutit's use of a tilt shift lens has turned his home of Sydney into a minature city. See Keith's work on his Vimeo profile.
