In parody we find…well something

This is Tina Fey with an old typewriter, 70's (brown) looking set, kinky ware and provocative pose. Don't know who shot this but we love it.

Baader meinhof complex

It's staggering how many people haven't yet seen this film yet, one of the best from the past few years. Left wing radicals with violence and sex – effortlessly cool.

Blogs we like: Iconic Photos

Politics, photography and 20th century history combined into one interesting read. Even if the fact's are not 100% correct this collection of imagery is bloody interesting and although it may be called 'Iconic Photo's' there's a real sense of thought into the subject, with a refreshing lack of cliche. We like, a lot.

What can you say?

These photo's were released last week and show a documentary perspective of the 9/11 attacks that we've not seen until now. This image has a chilling sense of normality where traffic moves freely on the freeway on a sunny September day as the dust cloud engulfs the city from the collapsing tower.

Oversize airships

Zeppelin airships have fascinated man since they first graced the sky's. They were huge (still the largest objects to fly) and were constantly exploited by Germany as a military and propaganda machine. For more info, great photo's and an interesting read go here.

Lotus T127

So here we go. Ten teams testing in Jerez this week and Lotus have just released their brand new T127 in traditional green and yellow! All is looking good for the 2010 season, new exciting rookies [Kobayashi] and four world champions in competitive cars plus an all German V's all British team [let's forget the engine in the back of that McLaren).

Nasa resources

Nasa's Dryden Research Center has an extensive image archive going back over 60 years. Showing everything from experimental one man flying machines to the most graceful fighter planes ever, this is a fascinating resource library.

Jasper Johns

As my personal favourite artist of all time it was inevitable that Johns would end up on Drivinghorse. He painted flags, targets, numbers and maps from the mid 50's onwards, primarily using encaustic, collage and stencils. Like all paintings only a gallery viewing will do them justice, failing that there are some very well printed books on his work.

BMW's art cars

The BMW art car series has involved some of the most famous names in art for 35 years and we're now due the 17th installment by Jeff Koons. Maybe it's the classic BMW's we love more than the art itself but these truly are unique. See the entire collection here.

The Ruins of Detroit

Yves and Romain like to capture 'ruins' and these images of Detroit's decaying buildings capture a bygone era of the American dream. They are an amazing collection and we look forward to getting a copy of the book.

Blogs we like: In pictures

Strictly speaking this isn't a blog, it does however post frequent photo essays of relevant subjects in the news. This latest one shows the iconic and visionary years of Concord as a concept plane, through service and the tragic end.

Documentry nostalgia

British sea-side imagery from the golden years of holidays on the South East coast. Nice to see these images are not sitting in a box.
